We offer fully guided hunts and drop camps in the back country of south-west Colorado near Creede and South Fork in the San Luis Valley. Big Country Outfitters have prime hunting country in 79 and 80. Some of our camps are accessible by 4-wheel drive and some camps we pack in on ATVs. How we get there all depends on the location and the weather conditions.
Big Country Outfitting has recently added additional terrain in unit 80 that has historically had an 85% success rate for fully guided hunters.
The picture below shows an average bull that was taken out of unit 80 in 2012. Large trophy elk can be taken from unit 80, however to live that long they have lived a mostly nocturnal life and are hard to get an opportunity on.
